Here is a list of feedback we received from a fan and her thoughts on things to do with Facebook to increase her visibility after watching 21 Creative Ways To Increase Your Facebook Fanbase | Social Media Examiner. We hope this gives you some ideas that you can do yourself and maybe where you would like to do some additional research.
Taking advantage of the plugins/widgets – I added the “Like” button to show up at the and see it’s value already and I added the “Like Box”. For me, the Like Box is a great way to share my FB page and show the benefit of it to my blog readers.
I would like to try “Live Stream” sometime but haven’t done it so far.
I agree with adding a link to your email signature – it is a no brainer and great way for people to access your site without having to search for it.
I don’t like the welcome video as a landing page.. I don’t like any landing page at all because I find the members don’t want to work that hard at getting to the main wall and some don’t realize their is a main wall. I had a landing page once at it was not a good idea.
I haven’t tried the facebook applications yet – I need to take some time to explore them. Do you use any you want to recommend?
Smart idea to have fans tag photos – I need to try this but haven’t yet!!
I need to do a better job at using FB video – it really is an awesome tool.
I agree that you need to use the @ tag sparingly and it can work against you to use it on competitor pages – this will probably serve more as an endorsement then a help to your own page:)
So – there was more but overall – I thought she was right on the money and I loved comparing my own experiences with her ideas. I need to go back and look at them some more to see if I am missing anything..
One thing I am sad about is that FB removed being able to add your own boxes to the side panel of your page. I really liked those!
