How do I get people to “like” me on Facebook?
If you are interested in increasing your fan base on Facebook, the first thing I suggest is that you go read Mari Smith’s article 21 Creative Ways To Increase Your Facebook Fanbase
Mari does a very good job of covering just about every major thing you can do to draw people into your page. But one of the things I like the most is that she suggests “suggest to friends” as the LAST thing in the list. There are so many more creative ways to gain fans than inviting your friend list.
But let me point out this this is simple getting people to click the “like” button. There are many things that her points suggest that you do before starting to get fans. We highly suggest you cover these points first.

- #4 Make a Compelling Welcome Video – or some other type of welcome page that answers who you are and what you do
- #10 Run a Contest – is one of the most engaging things you can do. This gets your current fans involved and attracts new fans in. Again, be very careful with contests because of Facebook policies
- #14 Display at your store/business – It is very important to mesh your online and offline world together. Make sure you get your activities to work together and help each other
- #18 Use the @ tag – is a great way to call attention to your page through your friend list without being intrusive. You can also tag friends at the same time as your page so that their friends can notice their association with your page.
